Join Real Estate Association’s first meeting of spring quarter as we introduce NAIOP to you to help boost your career in commercial real estate. FRL majors are encouraged to attend, but all majors are welcome.


NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association, is the leading organization for developers, owners, and investors of office, industrial, retail, and mixed-used real estate. 15,000+ strong and growing, NAIOP members enjoy access to unparalleled networking opportunities, research on trends and innovations, educational programs and powerful legislative representation.

NAIOP representatives-

Lilian Kuo – Senior Vice President of Asset Management at Shea Properties

Ms. Kuo focuses on Shea Properties’ long-term strategic goals, which include maximizing the performance of the assets, diversifying portfolio risk, and enhancing operational efficiencies. Ms. Kuo previously worked at Broadreach Capital Partners, which includes office, retail, and research & development properties. In that role, she managed more than 3 million square feet of office, retail and industrial buildings valued at over $1 billion.

Ms. Kuo received a bachelor’s degree in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration.

Brian Baker- Director at CIBC
As a Director with CIBC, Mr. Baker is responsible for originating, underwriting, and overseeing the loan process for CMBS and balance sheet transactions on the West Coast.
Previous to joining CIBC, Mr. Baker worked in the real estate capital markets division of both a commercial bank and an investment bank, spent time with the FDIC in corporate strategic planning and asset management roles, and worked as a CMBS bond analyst at Fitch. Mr. Baker has originated and underwritten over 150 loans ranging in size from $2 million to $75 million and worked out over $100 million in distressed assets since 2004.

Spring quarter

Spring quarter is here and REA will be bringing you cool opportunities to learn about commercial real estate from great guest speakers.

This quarter, we will have commercial real estate professional guest speakers from NAIOP & Urban Land Institute. They’ll teach us about the importance of joining a professional organization to help you boost your career.

Other guest speakers will included former Cal Poly Pomona FRL students who graduated long time ago, was in REA long time ago, but now they are active in the commercial real estate field.

Come join us every Tuesday starting April 7 during u-hour in building 162-2026!

Winter Quarter Recap

Winter quarter was a success! REA had great guest speakers from A.C. Martin, Sandra Vaughn-Acton, and Metro Gold Line!

We had many students that successfully found jobs in real estate and brought interview opportunities to our members.

We are currently looking for the best of the best to join our REA officer team. You are required to show up to every meeting and successfully execute any duties that are assigned. Officers get great job opportunities, so apply fast!
